BioShock Infinite is a first-person shooter video game, and the third game in the BioShock series. Previously known as "Project Icarus", it was developed by Irrational Games for the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. BioShock Infinite is not a direct sequel or prequel to previous BioShock games (but it's Burial at Sea DLCs is prequel(s) to BioShock), taking place in an earlier period of Steampunk, different setting unlike last two games and not having any major horror elements but instead with more dramatic elements, though it features similar gameplay concepts and themes, and near the end Booker visits Bioshock's underwater city known as Rapture. The player controls a former Pinkerton agent, Booker DeWitt, as he attempts to rescue Elizabeth Comstock trapped aboard the slowly collapsing Steampunk air-city Columbia in July 1912.

It was released worldwide on March 26, 2013.
